- עֲקֵידָה, עֲקֵדָהf. (עָקַד) tying the sacrifice before slaughtering. Tam.IV, 1 וכך היתה עֲקֵידָתוֹ and in this wise it was tied (and laid down); a. e.Esp. עֲקֵידַת יצחק, or ע׳ the attempted offering up of Isaac. R.
